Hubungan personal hygiene dengan kejadian penyakit kusta di puskesmas manguharjo dan ngegong
Pendahuluan: Kusta merupakan penyakit menular yang dapat menyerang kulit, yang disebabkan oleh kuman Mycobacterium leprae. Kusta merupakan penyakit infeksius dengan waktu inkubasi yang panjang sampai bertahun-tahun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan personal hygiene dengan kejadian penyakit kusta di Puskesmas Manguharjo dan Ngegong.
Metodologi: Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan case control. Populasi dan sampel adalah seluruh penderita kusta periode Januari – Desember 2021 yaitu 26 responden kasus dan 26 responden kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Chi-square.
Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel independent yaitu kebiasaan mandi (p-value = 0,026), kebiasaan meminjam handuk (p-value = 0,006), kebiasaan mencuci tangan dan kaki (p-value = 0,012) terhadap kejadian penyakit kusta.
Diskusi: Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kebiasaan mandi, kebiasaan meminjam handuk, kebiasaan mencuci tangan dan kaki terhadap kejadian penyakit kusta di Puskesmas Manguharjo dan Ngegong. Saran bagi Puskesmas yaitu perlu adanya sosialisasi mengenai cara pencegahan dan pengobatan penyakit kusta serta pemberian edukasi mengenai stigma masyarakat bahwa penyakit kusta bukan penyakit yang menyeramkan
Introduction: Leprosy is an infectious disease that can attack the skin, caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. Leprosy is an infectious disease with a long incubation time of many years.This research purpose is to analyze the relationship between personal hygiene and the incident of leprosy at Manguharjo and Ngegong Health Center.
Method: In this research, the researcher used descriptive quantitative research as approach. The method of research was analytical survey while the type of research is case control. In collecting the data, the researcher used Chi-square test. The population and samples is all leprosy sufferers of January –December 2021 period with 26 respondent cases and 26 respondent control.
Result: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between independent variables, namely bathing habits (p-value = 0.026), the habit of borrowing towels (p-value = 0.006), the habit of washing hands and feet (p-value = 0.012) to the incident of leprosy.
Discussion: The conclusion represents that is a significant relationship between bathing habits, towel borrowing habits, hand and foot washing habits to the incidet of leprosy at Manguharjo and Ngegong Health Center. The advice for Health Center is that there is a need for socialization on how to prevent and treat leprosy as well as providing education about the stigma of the community that leprosy is not a scary disease.
