Objective: to describe the sociodemographic and clinical profile of leprosy patients. Method: quantitative, retrospective, descriptive and population-based study with documentary source performed at a reference center for leprosy, with 55 patient records. The data collection was done from a structured form contemplating sociodemographic, clinical variables and the simplified neurological evaluation. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques and presented in tables. Results: the patients’ profile was characterized by men in the age group between 31 and 45 years of age, with low educational level, multibacillary type disease, degree of physical incapacity zero, being the feet the most impaired body site and nerves were not affected. Conclusion: the disease situation in the institution refers to a situation in poor development, with passive demand of old patients, although some points indicate an increase in the chain of transmission.
