About this course

The road map for neglected tropical diseases 2021-2030 aims at guiding the global NTD community toward the achievement of the overarching, cross-cutting and disease-specific targets set for 2030.

The course aims at providing the learner with key information on the road map and is structured around 8 modules: introduction to the course, introduction to NTDs, introduction to the road map, targets and milestones, how to accelerate programmatic action (pillar 1), how to intensify cross-cutting approaches (pillar 2), how to change operating models and culture to facilitate country ownership (pillar 3), and conclusions.

The target audience for the course includes policy-makers within and beyond the health sector, national programme managers, researchers, partners, donors and development agencies.

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Describe how progress is accelerated towards the prevention, control, elimination and eradication of the 20 NTDs and disease groups now prioritized by WHO and attaining the SDGs.
  • Demonstrate ability to facilitate alignment among Member States, donors, implementing partners, disease experts and all other stakeholders.
