About this course

Ensuring sustainability of NTD interventions and outcomes is a key goal of the NTD road map 2021–2030, as achieving the 2030 targets set for control, elimination and eradication will require substantial effort and new approaches in terms of organization, management, and financing of NTD programmes. Addressing sustainability issues need time and resources. This course helps countries to get prepared by presenting an action-oriented approach to assess sustainability of national NTD interventions, develop an action plan, and mitigate risks.

NTD programmes have made substantial progress in the last two decades. However, how to sustain such progress and protect hard-won health outcomes is becoming a critical question. The Sustainability Framework for action against NTD 2021-2030 is a companion document to the road map for NTDs 2021-2030. It aims at supporting countries to foster sustainability of their NTD interventions by presenting an action-oriented approach to:
1. Facilitate country level planning
2. Generates political momentum
3. Enhances resources mobilization
