A tribute to the elimination of leprosy
Abstract
Elimination of leprosy as a public health problem (prevalence of fewer than one leprosy case per 10 000 people) was attained in the majority of countries by 2010. Still, this neglected tropical disease is found in over 120 countries, with more than 200 000 new cases recorded annually, according to WHO.
